T-Y-P-O-G-R-A-P-H-Y Project
The second project I created this year was a publication that was 100% made using colour and typography.
Due to this project needing to be entirely typographical, I decided to use imagery in an inventive way. I wrote a piece of python script that would check the colour density for a group of pixels and convert that area into a character from the ASCII character set, allowing the image to be seen and recognisable but still being a form of typography.

The processed images
I'm extremely happy with the way in which the idea behind the visual of the publication has turned out. The images being visualised via typographical form suit the design style of the book very well in my opinion. The idea of combining coding and design together was also a path that was encouraged by the tutors when I brought up the original concept. The final layout of the publication can be seen on the mock-ups below:
